With Life in Mind Diamond Programme
Attention: People who’ve experienced major life changes
“How to achieve good mental health in twelve weeks”
With thirty years experience of helping people deal with change, and feel more in control of their lives, I’m passionate about finding the very best methods that really do achieve real results for real people living real lives.
The With Life in Mind programmes are based on an innovative framework for good mental health called the 5 Cs. This framework helps you learn the essential elements of emotional health and mental resilience, and the programme teaches you basic, proven, techniques for good mental health – no matter what your starting point.
How do you know this programme will benefit you?
Major life changes have a way of knocking us sideways when we least expect it.
Whether it’s redundancy, having a baby, retirement, ill-health, bereavement or even moving house, most people experience periods when life feels out of control and the fear of being unable to cope mentally or emotionally can take over.
You might feel it’s about time you were able to move on in your life, but somehow those feelings of stress, anxiety or depression make that really difficult. And no matter how hard you look for the reasons and problems causing this, you can feel like for every step forward it’s two steps back.
These are all good reasons to start working on your mental wellbeing, if only you knew how!
You may feel, as I once did, that you don’t deserve to invest in yourself. But my guess is that if you’re reading this, you’ve already decided it’s time to make changes, so please carry on.
I’m sure you know the basics of how to keep up your physical health (even if you don’t always do it!). And you also know that keeping up your physical health needs a certain amount of maintenance. No one gets themselves into peak physical condition and then expects not to have to do any more about it for the rest of their lives.
But most people don’t know how to work on their mental wellbeing, even if they’re feeling really great. And if you’ve experienced major changes in your life, these can really impact on your level of mental resilience. Common reactions can be experiencing sleepless nights, heightened anxiety, even panic attacks, loss of self confidence, lack of motivation, intense emotional reactions, periods of depression.
In fact, if we’re feeling stressed or dealing with change, it’s amazing how often we simply stop doing the very things which help us feel better! We say we haven’t got time, we don’t feel up to it, can’t afford it, and often don’t realise we’re just digging ourselves into a deeper hole. Until it feels right out of control!
Think about it for a moment ……
If you’re sitting on the fence waiting for things to change around you, whether that’s circumstances or people, you may be waiting forever.
You need to ACT NOW!
First, before I explain more about the programme, let me tell you a little about my experience.
Twenty years ago, after going through some major life changes I found myself severely stressed, anxious and depressed. This deteriorated to such an extent that I lost my job and my career at the time. I was diagnosed with ‘endogenous depression and severe anxiety disorder’.
My options were either to resign myself to depression and dependency, or to find ways to feel like I was living a normal life again. So began the journey which helped me back on the path of good mental health. First I overcame my sleepless nights and panic attacks, then I learnt how to manage my intense emotional reactions, and eventually I was able to regain my professional and personal self-confidence.
I’ve had a long journey, and what I’ve learnt most of all is that our mental health is not complicated unless you want it to be. You can decide to take charge, just as you would with looking after your physical health.
It may be simple but it’s not easy. There have been times when I’ve needed specific kinds of help and support, but I’ve also learnt that we can be so much better informed about our own needs at any particular time. Seeking help out of sheer desperation can end up being a particularly expensive and fruitless exercise.
In 2010, when I faced another big life change in closing down a business very dear to my heart, I found myself drawing on all that I’d learned over the years to maintain my own level of mental resilience in challenging circumstances.
And out of that experience the idea of framework for good mental health called the 5Cs evolved. These are the five core components of emotional health and mental wellbeing – Challenge, Connection, Character, Composure and Creativity. By learning about these, you can see where your individual strengths are, and how you can actively work on those areas for development to support wellbeing and balance in your life.
So whether you’re feeling great right now, or whether you feel that your life’s fallen apart, or wherever you are in-between, you can learn how to improve or maintain your mental resilience and emotional health.
And you can learn how to help others too!
By taking part in this exclusive With Life in Mind Diamond Programme, you’ll benefit from discovering:
• the right CHALLENGEs to help you grow in self confidence, and feel capable and competent
• your sense of CONNECTION with others, to ensure that your relationships support and encourage you
• how to find COMPOSURE so that you can respond calmly rather than react to your thoughts and emotions
• your unique personal strengths and CHARACTER to help you focus on your future path
• how to bring the fun and playfulness of your inner CREATIVITY back into your life
